Title:  Apple Brown Betty With Brown Sugar Whipped Cream

Ingredients: 
4 Servings

2 Tbl Soft butter
1 1/4 Cup Soft fresh bread crumbs
-white (or whole)
, wheat
1/4 Cup Light brown sugar
1/4 Cup Granulated sugar
1 Tsp Cinnamon
1/3 Tsp Allspice
1/4 Tsp ginger, Ground
2 Lb Apples, peeled, cored,
, halved and sliced
, 1/2-inch thick
2 Tbl Fresh lemon juice
3 Tbl Cold unsalted butter, cut
-into cubes

-brown sugar
, whipped cream*
1 Cup Chilled heavy cream
2 Tbl Light brown sugar
2 Tsp Vanilla extract


Method of Preparation: 
How to Prepare Apple Brown Betty: Preheat oven to 350 F. Butter a shallow 6- x 9-inch rectangular baking dish with 2 tablespoons of softened butter. In a small bowl, combine the crumbs, brown and white sugar and spices. Toss the apples with the lemon juice. Scatter 2 tablespoons of the crumb mixture into the bottom of the baking dish. Top with 1/2 the fruit and scatter 1/4 cup of the crumbs over. Top with the remaining fruit and crumbs and dot with the 3 tablespoons of chilled butter. Bake until the crumbs are browned and fruit is bubbly and tender, about 35 minutes.
