Title: Banana Flans
Ingredients: 4 Servings
-------------------
1 Tbl Sugar
1/4 Tsp Allspice, Ground
1-1/4 Cups Milk
3 Eggs
1/4 cup Sugar
1 Tbl Dark Rum
Dash Of Salt
2 medium Bananas, Sliced
Method of Preparation: 1. Grease four 6-ounce custard cups lightly. Mix 1 tablespoon sugar and the allspice. Sprinkle about 1 teaspoon mixture on bottom and side of each custard cup. 2. Microwave milk uncovered on high 3 to 4 minutes or until hot but not boiling. Beat eggs slightly in 4-cup measure using wire whisk or hand beater. Beat in 1/4 cup sugar, the rum and salt until foamy and well blended. Beat in hot milk gradually. Pour into custard cups. Arrange custard cups on 10-inch plate. 3. Microwave uncovered on medium (50%) 4 to 6 minutes, rotating custard cups and plate 1/2 turn after 2 minutes, just until well set. (Tops will appear slightly wet but will set completely during refrigeration.) Refrigerate 2 hours or until well chilled. 4. Unmold flans on dessert plates. Top each with 3 banana slices. Arrange remaining banana slices around edges of flans. Immediately refrigerate any remaining flans. 4 SERVINGS (ABOUT 1/2 CUP EACH); 220 CALORIES PER SERVING. |
