Title: Orange-Strawberry-Crush Sauce
Ingredients: 8 Servings
1 Pint Fresh strawberries
2 Eating oranges
2 Tbl Honey, fructose, or sugar
-substitute (opt.), To Taste
Method of Preparation: Wash and hull berries; leave whole. Peel oranges and cut into chunks. Combine berries and orange chunks in blender container, a little at a time. Cover blender and chop fruit coarse by quickly turning the blender on and off, until the texture is like a relish. Add sweetener to taste if {Approximately 30 calories per serving; 45 calories with honey or fructoss.} LADY FINGER LAYER CAKE: Split 8 packaged ladyfingers and arrange half in a shallow pan. Spoon on half the Orange-Strawberry-Crush Sauce or any crushed fresh fruit mixture. Top with remaining ladyfingers and cover with remaining fruit. (Or layer split ladyfingers and fruit mixture in individual dessert dishes.) Chill until serving time. 8 servings {approx. 70 calories each} SOME OTHER EASY IDEAS: Spoon Ornage-Strawberry-Crush Sauce into small spongecake shells, or use it as a filling for thin cold crpes. Spoon it over frozen yogurt or ice milk to make a sundae, or layer it with cottage cheese for a sundae kind of lunch. To make a chill-and-serve "trifle," layer Crush Sauce with broken-up grahan crackers in individual dessert cups. Cover with plastic wrap and chill several hours.
